I had a weekend getaway at Kulai! Quite an isolated place in Malaysia. there ain't any shopping centers or skyscrapers. It seems like i'm back in Singapore's 1990s, where there are lots of shophouses in a residential area.

We met the car group at Raffles Marina and almost had an accident just before we reached. Gaston was driving along the circle where there were 3 oncoming traffic. He checked left and right, but did not check the front! We almost hit the lorry in front of us. -_-". It was a long wait under the sun before the others arrived.

This is how we looked at the start of the drive. Pretty happy.

This is how he looked during the jam.
Pissed. We were in the jam for about 1hour and 20 minutes before we finally get to the customs. There were 4 printed car lanes but no one is following the rules. There were another 2 imaginary lanes when we were there. 6 rows of cars squeezing into a supposedly 4-lane road. It got to a point when the side mirror of another car is just 1cm from ours. In addition, there were motorbikes constantly zooming past us. Gaston was so pissed with the jam that he asked if i want to switch places with him. I'd be scared out of my wits and would not dare to move a inch forward.

Take a look at the black Honda Accord. It's only a few inches away from us. I have no idea why 2 "no entry signboards" are there. Most of the people will go past the signboards and move into the lane behind them. Where is the logic?

140km/h straight after we cleared the customs. A turtle evolved into a leopard.

Another long wait for the others to arrive. Starving by the time Sashi sped all the way from the customs to meet us.

Attendance of those who arrived early. I think there were 8 cars for this trip. I was too tired and famished to take the others.

On our way to Kulai. These photos were taken without flash. I think i must be out of my mind to take the photo on the right. There were motorbikes riding past, thankfully, there ain't any when i was taking the photo.

Our dinner! Finally! There were more than 6 dishes, just that i couldn't take the others after i ate the prawns. The noodles were cooked with pork lard. I think they poured a whole bowl of pork lard into it. All i can taste is lard. The lemon chicken was good, the sweet and sour pork ribs were different from the ones served in Singapore. The bones were not removed. We had to use our hands to eat them unlike those balls of pork ribs in Singapore where we can eat them like fishballs. haha. The cereal prawns tasted like the ones in Jumbo, just a lot cheaper! Black pepper deer meat wasn't to my liking, i still prefer the ginger onion deer meat. Less spicy and doesn't choke me. The vegetables were just... vegetables.

The car group. Another family is missing out because they are camera shy.

Gaston's and Shashi's. There are more of nightshots in my Facebook. More to learn when it comes to nightshoot. Some of my pictures were blurred as i refused to on flash. Using flash will ruin the picture that i want. Someone teach me!

The guys pumping petrol. To be honest, i have never touch the pistol thing when i pump petrol in Singapore. The kind guys at the kiosk will always help me with it. Most probably they think that i will do something stupid like stuffing it into the exhaust instead. Headed home after this.

Greeted by another jam. Another hour in queue. Slept through the journey home even though all i did was taking photos, walking around a little and eating dinner. Either i was really tired or Gaston was really that boring. LOL!
Signing off. VeE
