Just browsed through IKEA website looking for a decent mug. My mum just broke my mug not too long ago. -_-"
Anyway, how do you really pronounce IKEA? IKEA is pronounced as "EE-KEH-AH" in Swedish and "EYE-KEH-AH" in English. Memories of my friend poking fun at me surfaced when the huge words "IKEA" appeared at the webby. I didn't understand him when he said "EYE-KEH-AH". He said I am too Singlish. Fyi, that happened years ago and I still remember. It somehow made an impact on me.
Youtube video on the Swedish and English pronunciation. Singapore uses the Swedish version.
It's fine if you correct me when I am wrong, I will learn from that mistake. Convince me. Show me the proof. In my job, I'm trained to question, look out for mistakes and find out what are the "should be" or correct figures. In short, AUDIT.
Just don't make a big fuss and pretend that you are of a higher standing, roll your eyes, give me the "zist" sound or pretend that you are irritated. I deal with this everyday when my figures are wrong. I know from the body language.
I've been trying not to apply what I've learnt in my job to my daily life.
Job = 1. find one mistake
2. compute the correct figures
3. solve it in 5 minutes without any hassle
4. search for the person who did it (given up on this. wastage of time.)
So sometimes, I actually heck care and go with the crowd even though I know it's wrong. (I do lots of googling, my phone is my best friend for information. Google map rocks too! My dear compass which prevents me from getting lost.) This is to avoid any confrontation on who is right and who is wrong. It has to go through a process of verifying, convincing, admitting and last of all, awkwardness. I can be emotionless at work, but in my normal life, I can't.
Been through this crap loads of times with Gaston. Thank goodness we are still together. I reckon that he's the only one who can put up with my temper.
Kind of decided long ago that I will "act blur" in those situations. If it doesn't hurt anyone, why not?
Received death threats on Sunday when I wasn't replying messages and answering my phone.
My house might be bombed and.....
Someone is going to haunt me in my dreams every night if I'm still sleeping. Haha. It's very rare of me to be awake before 3pm on the days when I'm not working. I always schedule appointments around dinner time. This lunch was an exception. We bought deals from insing. I will be there if there's any good deals for Japanese sashimi buffet. =)
How can I ever resist sashimi? Was too busy eating that I've forgotten to take pictures of them. What attracted me to these deals are they offer discounts to those restaurants that I haven't heard of and I'm totally gamed to try new stuff. If the food is bad, I won't visit it again, but at least I know somewhere out there, there is still a chain of restaurants hidden in Singapore.
Tried the banana chocolate at Fruit Paradise. Shiok!!!!!!!!!!! I love banana and chocolate, it's awesome when they are combined!
My sashimi buddy.
Met Gaston after that.
Fat Coco getting a belly rub again. She has the tendency to lie on her back and whine for a belly run when I pat her. Professional whiner!
Been really lazy and lethargic these days. All I want to do when I get home is to bathe and hit the sack. Can't be bothered to do other stuff, this includes the simple task of using my lappy. This explains why I haven't been blogging. Using my phone right now.
Here's a photo of Silver girl. Trying not to let her feel neglected after we brought Coco home. Sometimes I'd be in a dilemma when both of them play together. Silver is 10 times bigger size than Coco but that tiny puppy always try to bully Silver by biting her. Who should I pull away when they start fighting? I can't whack Coco because she's a puppy which doesn't know anything and I can't whack Silver because she's just showing her displeasure. Irritating.
I wonder how my mum managed to hit me whenever there's a "fight" between my sister and me. How can she bear to?
It's so hard when there's divided love. Kind of decided that I won't hit my children if I have them one day. It's either I will have only one child or the age gap between my kids must be at least 8 years apart if I decided to have more. I've always hated what I went through when I was young. I still remember the times when I was five and I had to make milk for my sister who was crying in the cot. Walking alone in the dark morning to wait for school bus. I was only seven and weight barely 20 kg. Isn't she afraid of kidnappers? Taking buses on my own when there are extra lessons on Saturdays.
Lots more incidents and perhaps these are the reasons why I ain't close to my mum at all. You see kids hugging their mums when they are young, for me, that's a super rare thing. Can't even remember when was the last time we hug.
No idea if this is a good thing or bad. But one thing I've learnt from all these crap is to be very independent. My dad agrees with this too.
I reckon my aim will be to train my children to be independent but close to me.
Coco is going to be a professional whiner. She will be joining Silver in a duet soon. Judging from the videos and texts Gaston has sent me for the day, she will surpass her sister really soon.
Had a busy Saturday. Attended Gaston's baby sister's 21st birthday party and rushed down to Wei Lun's birthday party after that.
For the very first time, Gaston volunteered to carry the heavy 5 months old Makaio. The baby is growing fast! Lightning speed! My hands always ache after carrying him for less than half an hour. This cute, round baby doesn't cry when he's hungry, he just keep sucking on my shoulder until I wonder what's so tasty about my shoulder.
Here's a video of another baby, Coco.
Don't step on her tail. She is sure to put out a fight. Quite a fierce puppy. A total opposite of Silver. Silver is a dumb dog which does not run or retaliate when she's under attack. However, both of them share the same trait. They whine like mad. They can sing forever, until someone gives them attention.
This is what Coco did to me. She thought my leg was a drumstick.
Hello people! My name is CocoNut. You can call me Coco for short.
I love to eat, sleep, play and bite whatever I can find. This includes human legs. They are the best choice. Sometimes I prefer fingers when my human parents try to distract me with those plastic-rubbery smelling toys which I have no interest in. I tend to patronize them by pretending to be overwhelmed by the toys and slowly moving to those tender and delicious fingers.
Having belly rub is my favorite pastime. I can't help moving my fat stubby legs in a cycling motion when I'm enjoying it. I think my human parents are dumb. They took long enough to figure out that I'm girl and sometimes they still doubt if I'm a girl.
Currently, I'm learning how to whine. It gets immediate attention. An observation made from how my older hyperactive sister gets her treats. Lots of whining to be done.
I had the weirdest dream ever. I was on the boat fishing with my catch jumping in the boat. All of a sudden, my boat capsized and I have no idea why but I managed to save my catch and allow the boat to float off.
At this moment, my heroic dad comes into the picture. (He wasn't in my dream initially.) I was shouting for him and somehow the sea becomes a swimming pool. Managed to get myself out of the pool and asked him to on the lights which were underneath the pool. Had a hell shock when I saw what's larking in the pool. A great white shark.
This scene brought me to a sea and I found my boat in a vertical position, head up. The most amazing thing was the boat shrank to a size of a surfing board and I could carry it in one hand.
